Bulla!

Morning Lovelies

Well aren't I a lucky girl because my family have spoilt me with a holiday to Fiji for my birthday!

In doing so I will still be blogging but just from a tropical location!

Todays post features garments from the store Alice Be Curious!

I have paired a printed top with white shorts to give a summer/spring fresh look.

I have dressed it up for work with some high heels from Wittner.

Vinaka. Love TWD xo

Check Mate

Morning Lovelies

Continuing on from my Playing Checkers post, today's post gives style advice to keep your man on trend by dressing him in check print.

The key to wearing Check is to make sure that the squares stay straight and not distorted. Therefore loose and square fitted silhouettes work best with this print.

Check out the Canberra Centre's YD store. They are currently selling the Caine Shirt featuring the check print trend for men's wear. The shirt is a checked roll up shirt with a regular fit, featuring a narrow collar and back darts. I have layered the skirt over the Vinton Tee and paired it with Rex Super Skinny Jean and Minos Casual Shoes.

This look is more casual but can still be worn in the working environment. Hope you all are 'checking' this print out. Love TWD xo

Greyscale 007

'The name is Bond, James Bond'

The modern James Bond (Daniel Craig) style suit is back.
This season saw tight black and grey suit’s all over the runway.
It is a powerful look and has a certain charismatic charm.

Let's be honest some men need help when it comes to the wardrobe department.
So lead your man in the right direction and take them shopping at the YD store in the Canberra Centre.

YD’s philosophy is ‘YD. is isn’t just a store, it’s a lifestyle'
Which is exactly right, the garments they produce are affordable and good quality.
And whether your man needs work shirts and pants, casual clothes or a suit, the YD store is the best place to start looking.

The outfit below features YD’s FoxSuit. The suit jacket features a single button closure, welt pocket at the chest and jet flap pockets at the hips. The suit pant features a zip up fly, side angled pockets and welt pockets at the back. I have accessorised the suit with the Peace Slim Fit Dress Shirt, Ladras Dress Beltand Malvern Dress Shoe.

You can also check out the online store at:
Hope you all have an amazing Friday. Love TWD xo

Playing Checkers

Morning Lovelies!

Have you noticed how squares, checks and tartan prints have hit the catwalk through out the
New York, Paris and London Fashion Weeks?

Lanvin, Emilia Wickstead, Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger were just a few who presented top-to-toe looks of the check print.

The key to wearing a check print is to make sure that the silhouette of the garment, where it is check printed fabric, is square fitted. The print is most effective in a square fitted silhouette as the print is not distorted by the curves in your body.

'Check in' to the Alice Be Curious boutique to purchase garments from this trend.
I have buttoned up the Cameo Symphony Shirt underneath the Cameo Paradise Dress White NS. I accessorised the outfit with earrings from Lovisa and Maxi shoes from Wittner.

Now you are all prepared to check mate this trend. Love TWD xo

Curiouser and Curiouser!

Have I gone mad?

I’m afraid so, your entirely bonkers.

But I’ll tell you a secret, all the best people are!

Once upon a time there was a charming boutique in the New Action wonderland.
It was run by a mad hatter and sold the most winsome apparel.
Her philosophy was to replace fear of the unknown with curiosity
and that's what she did with her boutique

Today's outfit is from the Alice Be Curious boutique.
The model is wearing Keepsake Chilled Heat Top Black and Finders Keepers Coming home Skirt. I have styled the outfit with White Plaited Tube Triangle Necklace from Lovisa and Saintly shoes from Wittner.

The outfit follows the trend of monochromatic, which has hit our stores pretty hard.
The trend is simple just keep it black and white!
Accessorise with jewellery and shoes to keep it bold and interesting.

It's a good idea to check out the Alice Be Curious Boutique today, especially because its a public holiday, it is located at:
3/1 Mews East
City 2601 ACT

or online at

Hope you are all having a lovely day. Love The Work Diaries

You may be asking yourself.....
'How do I wear a denim jacket to work on a casual Friday?'

You need to pair the denim jacket with either a simple dress or a plain white t-shirt and jeans. Remember to 'KEEP IT SIMPLE' the denim jacket is a massive style icon so keep the rest of your outfit toned down as you want the denim jacket to be the main feature!

Hope you all have an amazing weekend. P.S. the weather looks like it is going to be great. YAY! Love TWD xo

I'm doing this for the thrill of it, killin' it

Morning Lovelies

Isn't Canberra's weather today beautiful?
The sun is out, the wind is currently hiding and the flowers have bloomed!

I personally love spring; it makes me happy.
I have always loved flowers and this time of the year.
When I was little, mum would take me for walks in my stroller and we would always arrive home with a bouquet of handpicked flowers.

This has most likely led to my love of floral prints.
The work place can be quite dull and when you wear a floral print it freshens up the working environment.

The skirt below is from Forevernew. The silhouette of the skirt is perfect for spring time as it is feminine and floaty. I have tucked in a white shirt to keep it corporate and suitable for the office. The outfit is quite fresh and modern and is likely to brighten up your day job.

I hope you have an amazing day. Love TWD xo

Introducing Andie Meredith, Canberra Designer

Australian women's wear label, Andie Meredith is built around the creative mind of the designer and owner, Andie Meredith. Her latest collection, as showcased at FASHFEST 2013, features feminine silhouettes and modern prints. What's interesting about Andie Meredith is that her prints remain exclusive to Andie Meredith and are derived from personal artworks. Each artwork is a response to the designers inspiration, taken from nature, a reflection of life experiences and the processes and works of Scottish Artist, Designer and Architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

I am loving Andie Meredith's World Ruling Pant and V T-Shirt. I've styled it with Forever News white blazer and belt, and gold accessories from Lovisa. This look makes an impact and is great for making a strong first impression. It would be perfect to wear on an interview, at a important meeting or when presenting. Love TWD xo

Geometric Prints

How do you wear Geometric Prints to work?

Firstly you need to shop around to find the print you like. Shops like Cue, Sportsgirl and Zara are currently selling easy to wear dresses, shirts and pants in all kinds of different geometrical prints.

Once you have found the print/garment you want to work with (mine is a dress from Sportsgirl as seen below) you need to look at the tones within the print. I've style my dress with a white blazer and belt and black gloves and boots (all from forevernew). The accessories accentuate the print and make the dress the focal point of your look. I love this look because it is modern, feminine, and gets
lots of compliments from colleagues. Love TWD xo
