Orange Blue Orange Blue

Orange you glad you don't have the Monday Blues!
Well how could when you are wearing a gorgeous outfit from Portmans!

So why does the orange/blue combination work? Well orange is actually the complimentary colour to the primary colour blue. These two bold colours work great together and as you can see they work on all skin tones.

See below how you can put together these outfits:

Paris (left) is wearing:
Charlie Tie Waist Dress from Portmans - Effortless and cool, cute summer dress. A sleeveless style features flattering tie waist and exposed zip in a statement blue hue.

Wide Colour Metal Cuff from Portmans - Part of the Portmans Limited Collection Jewellery Range. Leather-like cuff with polished soft gold metal trim, a key piece in this exclusive range.

Shoes from Wittner

Courtney (right) is wearing:
Multi Stripe Knit Skirt from Portmans - Mid length tube skirt in a tight fitting pencil silhouette. With exposed zip detail and multi width stripe in bold blue, red, black and white. The perfect skirt for work and play.

Top from Portmans

Tootsie Heels from Wittner - This edgy block heel is crafted from rich white leather with a full leather interior. Tootsie has a polished silver oversized adjustable buckle, extended black rand and 9.5cm electroplated gunmetal heel.

Hope you have had a lovely day. Love TWD xo

The Square Root

Hello Lovelies

Hope you have all had an amazing day at work!

I am very excited to being showing you todays post, as it is the first outfit from a very special collaboration with Portmans. Portmans is the fashion destination for metropolitan girls who like to stay on top, which is why it is the perfect label for The Work Diaries.

Todays outfit explores structure and simplicity; it is a fresh summer look with a modern edge. I have paired Portmans Grid Print Pencil Skirt with the Cutout Colour Block Tank.

The lemon yellow tank enhances the grid print of the skirt which makes it hot this season for the girl with an edge. The tank features a relaxed yet sophisticated back cutout detail.

This outfit works because the lose fitted tank juxtaposes the slim fitted pencil skirt.

It's bold and packs quite a punch! I have accessorised the outfit with Portmans Stevie Barrel Bag and Cat eye styled Sunglasses; and finished it off with Ralex shoes from Wittner.

Hope you all get a good nights sleep and are ready to dress to impress for tomorrows work day. Love TWD xo

Bless her cotton socks

Morning Lovelies

Cotton Plant - Generally a shrubby plant having broad three-lobed leaves and seeds in capsules, or bolls; each seed is surrounded with downy fibre, white or creamy in colour. The greatest diversity of wild cotton species is found in Mexico, followed by Australia.

Bless her cotton socks it's Friday and thankfully the weather has gone back to being sunny and warm!

I have to admit, that I have had so much fun working on my latest collaboration with Sara Wurcker from Wildwood, Priscilla Crossleigh from The Wardrobe Files and Hannah Allen from Hannah Allen Photography. These girls are amazing and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with them.

Today's outfit explores the double denim trend.
Note the trick to wearing double denim is to either match the exact same colour denim or to go completely different colours (i.e. white with blue, blue with black, white with black).

This denim mid length crop top and denim pencil skirt with a small slit is designed by Sara from Hunter the Label sold at Wildwood. I have kept the look clean by not over accessorising and focusing on some stand out pieces like the Mix Metal Facet Triangle Rope Necklace from Lovisa, bag from ASOS and Milled shoes from Wittner.

Hope you all enjoy the sunshine and have a fabulous weekend. Love TWD xo

Moody Blooms

TREND ALERT! TREND ALERT!

MOODY BLOOMS

For a darker edge try wearing a moody bloom print to work.
Deep oranges, reds and blacks paired with modest skirt lengths and high necklines create the beautifully melancholic mood.
Perfect for an outfit when you want to be 'serious' and powerful!

This trend has been massive during the latest catwalks and is soon to be taking over our stores!

The look below is from the Alice Be Curious boutique.
The Honey and Beau Exotic Floral Skirt Print has been paired with a Finders Keepers Top. I accessorised the outfit with a bracelet and necklace from Lovisa and Maxi shoes from Wittner.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Love TWD xo

Curiouser and Curiouser!

Have I gone mad?

I’m afraid so, your entirely bonkers.

But I’ll tell you a secret, all the best people are!

Once upon a time there was a charming boutique in the New Action wonderland.
It was run by a mad hatter and sold the most winsome apparel.
Her philosophy was to replace fear of the unknown with curiosity
and that's what she did with her boutique

Today's outfit is from the Alice Be Curious boutique.
The model is wearing Keepsake Chilled Heat Top Black and Finders Keepers Coming home Skirt. I have styled the outfit with White Plaited Tube Triangle Necklace from Lovisa and Saintly shoes from Wittner.

The outfit follows the trend of monochromatic, which has hit our stores pretty hard.
The trend is simple just keep it black and white!
Accessorise with jewellery and shoes to keep it bold and interesting.

It's a good idea to check out the Alice Be Curious Boutique today, especially because its a public holiday, it is located at:
3/1 Mews East
City 2601 ACT

or online at

Hope you are all having a lovely day. Love The Work Diaries

Cherry Blossoms in the Park

As the saying goes Spring has sprung in Canberra and there is no better way to fully embrace Spring than to visit Floriade, go to the races and wear floral prints.

This weekend's weather was perfect for a lovely stroll through the cherry blossoms.

And what better way to reminisce than to wear a cherry blossom print to work.

So cruise into Monday with this free flowing feminine skirt from Pure Pod. Pair the skirt with a tightly fitted top, clutch and some heels and you'll be sure to make Monday your fun day.

To pre order this outfit you will need to contact Pure Pod via email at info@purepod.com.au.

At the moment other stores that sell floral prints are Sportscraft, Review and Veronika Maine at the Canberra Centre.

Hope you had a lovely day. Love TWD xo

Keeping it simple in Anaheim

Today's post comes to you all the way from Anaheim, California.

I have been told that the weather in Canberra has been amazing. So keep it simple this spring with a sunshine yellow high waisted skirt and some beige heels. Don't forget to belt it and accessorise it with some red lips.

You can make the look more corporate with a white blazer and slick pony tail.

Hope you all have a lovely ay. Love TWD xo
