So how do you style your work outfit to transform it from day to afterwork drinks?

Orange you glad you don't have the Monday Blues!

Well how could when you are wearing a gorgeous outfit from Portmans!

So why does the orange/blue combination work? Well orange is actually the complimentary colour to the primary colour blue. These two bold colours work great together and as you can see they work on all skin tones.

Happy Hump Day Lovelies!

 

Sometimes it's nice to minimise an outfit by not accessorising at all.

 

I must admit that sometimes I get over excited and make the outfit all about the accessories; it's nice to just focus on the details of the garment itself. 

 

Take the Hannah Open Back Dress from Portmans for example. 

This dress is effortless with it's pleats and cool fit and flare silhouette.

It features a racer back with a minor cutout design.

It is feminine, flattering, bold and modern.

 

All you need is a bold lipstick colour like Portmans Lip Fruit Punch and a birght white sandal like the Ralex shoe from Wittner to complete the look.

White is such a vibrant colour this Summer and bonus it make you look tanned!

White dominated the runway and is now ready to dominate your workplace.

Hope you have all had an amazing day at work!

I am very excited to being showing you todays post, as it is the first outfit from a very special collaboration with Portmans. Portmans is the fashion destination for metropolitan girls who like to stay on top, which is why it is the perfect label for The Work Diaries.

Todays outfit explores structure and simplicity; it is a fresh summer look with a modern edge. I have paired Portmans Grid Print Pencil Skirt with the Cutout Colour Block Tank.

The lemon yellow tank enhances the grid print of the skirt which makes it hot this season for the girl with an edge. The tank features a relaxed yet sophisticated back cutout detail. 

This outfit works because the lose fitted tank juxtaposes the slim fitted pencil skirt.

It's bold and packs quite a punch! I have accessorised the outfit with Portmans Stevie Barrel Bag and Cat eye styled Sunglasses; and finished it off with Ralex shoes from Wittner.

Cotton Plant - Generally a shrubby plant having broad three-lobed leaves and seeds in capsules, or bolls; each seed is surrounded with downy fibre, white or creamy in colour. The greatest diversity of wild cotton species is found in Mexico, followed by Australia.


Bless her cotton socks it's Friday and thankfully the weather has gone back to being sunny and warm!

I have to admit, that I have had so much fun working on my latest collaboration with Sara Wurcker from Wildwood, Priscilla Crossleigh from The Wardrobe Files and Hannah Allen from Hannah Allen Photography. These girls are amazing and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with them.

Today's outfit explores the double denim trend.
Note the trick to wearing double denim is to either match the exact same colour denim or to go completely different colours (i.e. white with blue, blue with black, white with black).

This denim mid length crop top and denim pencil skirt with a small slit is designed by Sara from Hunter the Label sold at Wildwood. I have kept the look clean by not over accessorising and focusing on some stand out pieces like the Mix Metal Facet Triangle Rope Necklace from Lovisa, bag from ASOS and Milled shoes from Wittner.

Lavender Fields

Lavender - a plant with small pale purple flowers that have a sweet smell and grows in the wildwoods.

 

 

Today's outfit explores a lavender button up blouse from Hunter the Label sold at Wildwood. The pretty pale shade is unmistakably feminine, but it's also refreshingly au courant.

I have enhanced the colour of the blouse by accessorising it with the pastal purple Mix Metal Facet Triangle Rope Necklace from Lovisa.

 

Pastel is a soft and delicate palette and is refreshing for corporate wear.

I have tucked the blouse into the black high-waisted pants also from Hunter the Label.

 

To finish of the look I have accessorised it with the Stephanie Fold Over Crossbody Bag from Collette and Milled shoes from Wittner.

 

This outfit is fun for the office and is sure to get some attention.

Wildwood Days

Morning Lovelies

Wildwood - an uncultivated wood or forrest that has been allowed to grow naturally.

That is the very essence of Canberra designer Sara Wurcker's boutique Wildwood.

Located in Lonsdale Street Traders, Braddon, Sara sells her very own independent fashion label Hunter. Hunter is feminine and bold, with this season's collection having modern crops, denim, sheer and young silhouettes.

Todays outfit is from Hunter the label, Wildwood.

The top is denim and has a modern crop. The pants, being the feature of the outfit, explore a black and white tartan print and have a high waisted silhouette.

I have completed the look by accessorising with the Stud Base Tote from Collette and Milled shoes from Wittner. This has kept the outfit on this season’s monochromatic trend.

Detox

Morning Lovelies

 

This morning I sit at my work desk feeling enlightened.

 

Why you may ask?

 

Well this morning at 6:30am I tried power yoga for the first time.

The class was heated to approximately 30 degrees and whilst I commenced the practise of yoga, I sweated out all of the toxins from my body.

 

After the class I felt refreshed and revitalised and can't wait to do it all again tomorrow! Power Yoga Canberra have an introductory offer of $20 for 10 consecutive days.

Keep Calm, it's Tuesday!

 

Tuesday is the perfect day to brighten up the work place with a bold colour.

 

When you wear a bright shade of blue it can make you feel happy and confident.

Blue is a masculine colour and is considered beneficial to the mind and body.
