Monday Madness

Ahhhh the weekend is over and the madness of the working week has begun!
It's easy to feel a little depressed on a Monday morning so pick up your spirits with some electronic beats from Safia.

I love todays look as it features the Clothing Label Scarlette, created by local designer Steph Tallos. Her latest collection is inspired by autumn colours; plays with two dimensions and juxtaposes against three dimensional forms. The blocks of colour make the garments statement pieces and are easy to wear to the work environment.

Below the model is wearing Scarlette pants and top. The silhouette of the top is very in trend for the upcoming spring/summer style. I have styled the outfit with some cool head phones from Forevernew and bracelet from Lovisa. The look is very modern and the bold colours are a good way to stay away from black in the office space.

Just a quick FYI on Thursday I will be travelling to the USA where I hope to continue blogging and will try to update you regularly on the street style I discover on my travels. Love TWD xo

Day to Night

Today I am going to give you some tips on how you can take your work outfit and make it after work ready!

You can change your look by adding a:
-colourful bold necklace,
-fitted blazer that is a neutral colour,
- some killer pumps or boots,
-faux fur scarf or jacket,
-statement earrings,
-bright lip colour,

I've glamed up my work out with some fabulous accessories, shoes and a rocking coat!
I've worn a Rise of Dawn dress to work and styled it up with some high heels, Forevernew Clutch and Belt and coat by Style by Shez. This outfit demands attention and looks oh so stylish!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. Love TWD xo

Morning tea time again?

Let’s be honest, in the public service it’s not uncommon to have regular fortnightly morning tea's.

I personally love them! Who can resist the delicious choice of sausage rolls, slices, biscuits, donuts, banana bread and those delicious little things with cream on them,

It makes me hungry just thinking about morning tea!!!

Today I have brought you a fresh idea for those people that are time poor, like to keep it simple, and impress their work colleagues at morning tea.

Chocolate and Strawberry Butterfly Cupcakes

All you need to buy is a packet mix of chocolate cupcakes, Betty Crocker’s vanilla icing tub and some fresh strawberries.
How to make it:
Follow the recipe on the back of the packet mix until the cupcakes have cooked and are cool.

Cut the top of the cupcakes off (the bulging part) and slice that piece in half (see picture below, this makes the butterfly wings).

Start icing the cupcakes with the vanilla icing from Betty Crocker. Make sure the layer is thick enough to hold the weight of a strawberry and butterfly wings.

Place the strawberry on top of the middle of the cupcake and put the two sliced pieces of muffin top on either side of the strawberry.

Taaaa daaaaaa you have scrumptious Chocolate and Strawberry Butterfly Cupcakes!

Hope your cupcakes turn out as well as mine did. Love TWD xo

Business and Pleasure

"Please madamme, are you here on Business or Pleasure?"

If your buttoning up for business or unbuttoning for pleasure... Pure Pod's Chevron Button Dress is the dress to do it in.

The print of the dress is zig zagging with rust tones.
The silhouette of the dress is flattering as it elongates the body and the structure shows off your feminine curves in a complimentary way.

It is easy to wear and looks amazing! The dress is made with GOTS certified organic cotton & low impact printed ink.

Blast from the Past

So it's safe to say that I have come a long way from getting my mum and boyfriend to take photos of me in my lounge room, to having amazing photographers, models, clothing designers and MUA's getting involved.

The look below is one of my personal favourites.
It's the ultimate battle of Pattern versus Texture! And well there is no winner because the colours in the garments are complementary to one another.
The top is from Supre
The skirt is from Witchery
The belt is from Forevernew
The shoes are from FSW

For winter I would add either a white or black blazer to dress it up and keep you warm.
Love TWD xo

Itchy, Knee, Sun, She,

Ahhh Monday morning, the first day of your working week to impress and make your presence known.

Today I bring to you a modern pencil skirt with a Japanese influence. It is hand printed with eco inks and brings to life a story about a flock of birds. This skirt is versatile and can easily adapt to any situation that could arise; whether you need to look sophisticated for a meeting or look casual for a lunch, this skirt is your go to.

The skirt is called 'Green Pasture's' and is designed by Pure Pod. It is made with organic cotton poplin and is dyed using natural herbs and vegetables; so good you could you could practically eat it (just joking). Be quick! there is only one in stock (size 8); you can however email Pure Pod and custom order one to your size.

I have styled the skirt with Pure Pod's 'Amelia Top' and Lovisa accessories. The top is made from soya bean and organic cotton jersey. It is a super soft light knit and has a pure merino wool and organic cotton stripped belt.

Relax, grab a green tea and enjoy your Monday morning. Love TWD xo

Trend: Denim Dress

TGIF

The 2014 Cruise/Resort runways showcased a massive denim trend this season.
With new technology available, the fashion houses are able to apply a modern edge by using laser technology to create tonal indigo patterns.
We saw the likes of Karl Lagerfield, Givenchy, Jonathon Simkhai all showcased their take on a modern denim dress.

A denim dress is versatile and a touch more femine then your pair of denim jeans.

I love Pure Pod's take on the denim dress. It is structural, flattering and oh so environmentally friendly!

The dress is called Natural Desire and is made from hand woven organic cotton denim.
It has been naturally dyed in indigo and has not used synthetic dyes and chemicals. The dress is not available on their website until the end of August but can be made to order now if you contact them directly.  Love TWD xo

Dont forget to use the code PurePod-2VEJW when you call them to order this stunningly beautiful dress!
